The Pedagogy Department is made up of academic staff specialising in different areas of formal and non-formal education. Their focus is based on two axes: Teaching and Research.
The faculty are responsible for the initial training of educational professionals, delivering teaching across the Bacherlor’s degrees of Social Education, Teacher Training and Pedagogy, as well as the Masters programmes of “Training for Teachers of Compulsory Secondary Education and Upper Secondary Education, Professional Training and Language Teaching”, “Innovation in Social & Educative Intervention” and in “Education Technology: e-learning and Knowledge Management”. The training of new researchers is also an area developed by means of our participation in various doctoral programmes.
Further, developed research is also highly correlated not only to the continuous professional development of the academic staff but also to the ever-present analysis of the role which education plays in the development of the reality in which we live, providing answers to help us confront the new challenges which we encounter.
These two axes are interrelated and complement each other, thus demonstrating the department’s concern for education as seen from it’s widest perspective.
